But First! We Have To Set The Christmas Mood!
When you’re getting settled in for a major Christmas living room makeover, you have to get in the zone! I’m talking Christmas music, gingerbread scented candles, and pulling out your favorite holiday sweater! I was taught by my mom that when you decorate, you set the scene to put you in the Christmas spirit! This majorly helps in bringing out your holiday creativity! I’ll help you get started with this holiday soundtrack on Youtube:
Holiday Christmas Pillows
Super helpful tip! I didn’t want to purchase Christmas pillows for our new apartment as I knew we’d be getting ready for another big move in less then a year! I purchased these super cute reindeer express bags from Target and then stuffed them with plastic grocery bags we had in our pantry. Forewarning, your husband may come looking for you to find out where all of the plastic bags went! 😉

Typically your Christmas tree is the focal point in the room. I recommend picking an area where people can easily see the tree when sitting on the couch. However, if you have a big family and a lot of presents under the tree then you also have to juggle functionality and space.
We got our tree at a good price at Home Depot, but honestly I hesitate to recommend a similar tree as you should really see the tree in person before buying. In my humble experience, the tree advertised in pictures is not often what you get in real life.
