This post was all about baby shower gifts
If you’re looking for baby shower gifts that don’t end up in the back of your loved one’s closet then you’ll want to read this list created by moms! We’ve compiled the top finds from moms who have shared what they honestly use! I’ve thrown in a few of my all-time favorites too!

This post is also great when hunting for what to include on your registry. We’ll include links to all of the top-rated products on Amazon, so you can easily browse and add as you go!
Baby Shower Gift #1: Shop Their Registry!
No matter how creative you think you can get, there is nothing that will top shopping on the couple’s baby registry! They may have spent hours researching the products and brands they prefer, so definitely check there first!
Baby Shower Gift #2: Diapers

When shopping for diapers, it is not uncommon for people to receive mostly newborn or number 1 size diapers. I suggest getting numbers 3 and 4 as I have found this size is commonly missed for couples. The brand I favor right now is Millie Moon as they’re harder for a baby to have a blowout in.
Baby Shower Gift #3: Wipes

I suggest picking up the fragrance-free diapers as some babies have too sensitive of skin to handle the chemicals they put on the wipes to give them the pleasant scent.
Baby Shower Gift #4: Diaper Rash Cream

Lots, lots, and LOTS of diaper rash cream! Desitin and Butt Paste are two of my personal favorite brands! If you’re doing it right then you put a thick layer on to protect the skin, so the couple will thank you now or later for gifting them a few of these!
Baby Shower Gift #5: Seasonally Appropriate Baby Clothes
Pro tip: When shopping for outfits, be considerate to how cold or warm the season will be based on the baby’s age.
For example, if you buy a 6-month-old short sleeved dress, but the baby will be 6 months old in winter then the mom-to-be may never get to use that outfit.
Baby Shower Gift #6: Pants
Common complaint among mothers is they received a lot of onesies but didn’t receive nearly as many pants to pair with the onesies. This is true to the example above where the mother will especially want pants for the winter months.
Baby Shower Gift #7: Baby bath essentials: Shampoo, lotions, bathtub

One of my favorite baby shower gifts was a bathtub as a basket and inside was all of the baby shower essentials such as lotions, shampoos, and towels!
Baby Shower Gift #8: Baby Blankets

Baby Shower Gift #9: Nipple shield

Do you want to be the hero of the party?! First time moms may not initially understand some of these gifts, but if she chooses to breastfeed then she will feel very blessed to have these items on hand!
Warning: Only give these items if you know the mother intends to breastfeed as this could be received as an insult if they intend to formula feed.
Baby Shower Gift #10: Baby bottles
Baby Shower Gift #11: Toys for a variety of months
Not only would I suggest gifting toys, but toys that suit a variety of months. The toys suited for 3 months is not the toys that a 6 or 9 month old would readily play with.
Baby Shower Gift #12: Nail trimmer / filer

Forget the crying and bleeding fingers due to wiggling fingers and tiny baby nails. I am forever obsessed with this nail filer! My baby enjoys getting her nails filed and we don’t have any accidents trying to keep her nails taken care of. I recommend it to all of my mom friends.
Baby Shower Gift #13: Fleece Sleep Sacks

Multiple moms expressed the value of a fleece sleep sack and how they didn’t know they needed them until they did.
Baby Shower Gift #14: Extra Milk Storage Containers

Breastfeeding Moms are going to be a fan of having milk bag containers should they want to build up their milk supply. Motif’s breastmilk storage bags are the ones I’ve used and can appreciate.
Baby Shower Gift #15: Car Seat

Buying the couple a car seat would make you the real MVP, but make sure you check the brand they want. Some parents are very invested in the type of car seat they buy to hold their precious cargo.
Baby Shower Gift #16: Baby Carrier (variety)

Baby Shower Gift #17: Bibs Cloths
These baby bibs are my personal favorite! I used these during the spit-up phase as well as when it was time to start introducing solids. These saves moms from so many unnecessary outfit changes.
Baby Shower Gift #18: Swaddles

Baby Shower Gift #19: Diaper Pail + trash bags

We received mixed feelings about the diaper pail, but we honestly use ours loyally. No, it’s not 1,000% perfect at keeping the odor trapped, but it is significantly better than a regular trash can. I give the diaper pail gift a 9/10.
Baby Shower Gift #20: Onesies for short sleeves and long sleeves

I received a lot of short sleeved onesies, but very few long sleeved onesies. Gifting a variety would be much appreciated depending on what season the baby will be born in.
Baby Shower Gift #21: Gas Drops

If you know then you know the importance of having gas drops on standby. Having gas drops on hand keeps you from desperately searching which store is open at 1:00 am, and praying they have gas drops available. Speaking from experience.
Baby Shower Gift #22: First Aid Kit

Better to have gifts like first-aid kits on standby than purchasing them after an incident arises. This one is so cute, too!
Baby Shower Gift #23: Spa Basket For Mom

Gifts for baby are always appreciated, but a present for the mom carrying the little one can be very thoughtful!
Baby Shower Gift #24: Crib

Crib gifts are self-explanatory and super helpful!
Baby Shower Gift #25: Crib Sheet

A couple can really use a variety of crib sheets, especially in the beginning when the little one is spitting up a lot.
Baby Shower Gift #26: Bassinet

While bassinets are typically only used for 6 months, I know many moms who express how worth it they are in the beginning!
Baby Shower Gift #27: Month Mile Marker

This is the cutest milestone marker I’ve seen thus far! Moms can keep track of how their wee one looked throughout the year as so many changes happen so quickly during the first year.
Baby Shower Gift #28: Socks

Socks, socks and more socks! If you’re the one hosting the baby shower, then you can turn the sock gift into a game. My sister-in-law purchased a variety pack of socks, and guests had to match the socks as fast as they could. Whoever had the most matched socks under a certain time frame won a prize.
Baby Shower Gift #29: Nipple Cream
Same logic as the nipple shield we recommended earlier! Giving the gift that supports the mother ultimately supports the baby, and nipple cream can really help soothe the pains of breastfeeding.
Baby Shower Gift #30: Silver Cups
I never got a chance to use the silver cups I purchased for breastfeeding, but I’ve had enough moms swear to me they helped them heal as they were starting to breastfeed their newborn.
