If you are working on preparing and hosting an afternoon tea party and you don’t want to forget anything, you’re going to want to read this! I’ve hosted quite a few parties for not afternoon tea as well as high tea. This is my list of tea party accessories & essentials you will want to consider getting at your next event!

Whether you’re looking for tea sets, party favors, tablecloths, runners or even tea party head accessories, that is what this post is all about and more!

This post has over 14 + essential and accessory tea party supplies to ensure you’re completely covered at your next event! If you’re on a budget, I’ve got you covered! If you’re in the mood to splurge a little, I’ve also included some fun items to invest in for future use!

Obviously, you’re going to need a tea set to have at your tea party! Amazon has a wonderful selection of tea sets to choose from. However, if you’re wanting to mix and match then I suggest you go your local thrift store to find a variety of different tea sets!

Image your guests are preparing your tea, and you have a tiny bowl of roses they can lay in their teacup to make their drink look spectacular!!! This is not necessary, but 100% a fun tea party accessory!

The tea party hat is a tradition, but not a requirement! A lot of ladies really enjoy putting on the tea party uniform and getting that full experience! A fun bonus idea would be to have a hat making event! Ladies could make their own hat!

I am almost addicted to party favors! One of my favorite parts of hosting is to have a lineup of party favors ready at the door for guests, or a fun treat stationed at their plate! These little party boxes would fit well with almost any tea party theme!

You saw the party favor bags, but what you are going to fill them with? At my wedding, we took the teapot shaped boxes and included a single Ferrero Rocher candy inside! Guests LOVED it as it is a very popular treat!

Other ideas would be to get mini bath bombs or a miniature bookmark to include inside the tea party favors!

I’m just waiting for handkerchiefs to make a comeback! They were used in history to not only clean your hands, face, or wipe away a tear, but according to Vintage Hairstyling they were also used for applying perfume or signaling to a gentleman you would like to speak to him! You could include this in your party favors for each lady to keep. Even take a group photo with all the ladies waving at the camera with their handkerchiefs!

Place card holders help tell people where to sit or can be used to describe what food is being served. These are awesome adds for not only your afternoon or high tea event, but this product also can be used for future parties!

Imagine your tablescape includes little spoons for each attendee to stir their teacup with! The golden swan spoon holder is honestly just ADORABLE!

Similar to your tea seat, the hardware you use to serve the food truly sets the tone for the event! Go with gold or silver and include a 3-tiered tray to display all of the tasty scones and goodies!

You want to keep your tea nice and warm, and a tea pot cozy does just that! Not to mention, it’s an elegant detail to have at your table!

Socializing is the main activity everyone is going to do when they go to afternoon tea. Including a few games is a pretty good accessory to add to the occasion.

Decorate, decorate, DECORATE! I absolutely adore decorating and adding flowers and butterflies is a wonderful touch for your party!

You can get as creative or as simple as you want to be when it comes to the tablecloth. I personally own the plain white cloths I recommend above, and I enjoy the simplicity of straight white. However, please add all the frills and details to make the look your own!

Table runners are a legitimate GAME CHANGER when it comes to your tablescape! Seriously, a good table runner will completely transform a tablescape and elevate the style.

Adding musical ambiance to your tea party is 100% a win when you are hosting! Especially if you’re getting a group together who may not know each other very well! The music provides a space where people can relax and feel they can talk openly. Here are two of my personal favorite background music videos I recommend from YouTube!
