This is why I’ve put together a list of weekend trip ideas you can do to take your mom on a fun adventure! list of activities up into three age groups to save you time.

1. Disney Mother’s Day Weekend Trip
If your mom is a fanatic for Disney then taking her on a weekend trip to Disneyland or Disney World is going to blow her mind! You could turn this into an entire family trip or keep this as a girls-only vacation!
Insider Tip: DON’T take your mom to either of the Disneys on the actual Mother’s day weekend. The parks will be packed as everyone will be thinking of the same idea. 2. Women’s Retreat
Churches sometimes put together women’s retreats around the springtime or you can look like a retreat event happening in an area you and your mom have wanted to visit for some time. This way someone else has put together the activities and you both can spend more time enjoying each other and less time planning.
3. Travel Around New York & See A Broadway Show
New York has some of the best Broadway shows out there! Make a weekend trip out of it and explore the city that never sleeps along the way!
4. Outdoors Retreat
Go on a hike, ride horses, go boating, or just take in the scenery at a retreat which offers all kinds of activities. One example is the Ring Lake Ranch in Wyoming which offers a wide variety of fun things to do!

There area has plenty of shopping and isn’t too far from the Tillamook factory where you can get some delicious ice cream as well as free cheese samples! One recommendation is to stay at the Spanish Head Inn which has an oceanfront view! You can step right out onto the ocean and explore a tiny tide pool area.
6. 3 Day Trip to Mexico
Trips to Mexico are not only a blast, but not as expensive as you might imagine. Royal Caribbean Cruise has some great options that both you and your mom will find a blast!
7. Air BnB in Your Local Town & Favorite Restaurant
Last year we booked an Air BnB and served everyone’s favorite dishes in the dining area from Olive Garden! It was the perfect space for everyone to feel welcome. Not dining at the restaurant allowed us to spend more time socializing over the food and hang out longer. Air BnB’s are a great space to host a mini gathering for card playing, movie watching, and just spending a weekend trip relaxing together.
8. Shopping Spree in Dallas, Texas
What a great excuse for a girl’s trip! Pick a place you want to visit that is known for its shopping like Dallas, Texas and hit the road! If you go to the Dallas area, then one of the big shopping hubs is NorthPark Center.
9. Murder Mystery Events

10. Historical Tour In Boston, MA
In Boston, MA you’ll find a treasure trove of history! The Freedom Trail is a great way to spend a weekend and learn about the beginnings of our country. You can see in the image above; I went on the Freedom Trail and it’s as simple as following the double bricked line throughout Boston which will lead you to all of the main spots.
Insider Tip: Take snacks as this trail may take a while when you consider traveling time as well as stopping to soak in each destination.
11. Go On A Food Tour
Orlando was named number one spot for foodies according to Wallethub’s. Book a food tour and make a weekend dash to Florida for this upcoming Mother’s Day.
12. Hot Air Balloon Ride
Boise, Idaho has an annual hot air balloon festival called the Spirit of Boise! This experience is one that would make a beautiful memory for Mother’s day! Book a hotel and go a weekend visit! Have a picnic in the area and enjoy the scenery!
